Blastoise used Surf by Ford “Mystic-Forces” Shipper

Ford Shipper is a part of the Game-Art-HQ community since almost the start and participated in our Art Collaborations like the Legend of Zelda Bestiary Project, the Link’s Blacklist back in 2012 already. He was joining our Pokémon Tribute as the second artist actually, directly on the 29th April when we started it.

I recommend to have a look at his whole portfolio on dA which you can find here!

“It swamps the entire battlefield with a giant wave. It can also be used to cross water”

Surf is a damage dealing Water-Type Pokémon attack which had no side effects in the Gen I & II games but is also hitting allies since Gen IV and attacks all opposing Pokémon in Double and Tripple matches. The Surf move can also be used to travel over the water. Surf can not be learned through levelling by Blastoise. (Items fix that!)

Blastoise used Hydro Pump by Lesslie H. aka MuddyTiger

MuddyTiger joined Game-Art-HQ this year and debuted with her take on Arbok which looked a lot more realistic and intimidating than the original design. After that one she drew Machoke and eventually also Blastoise, Graveler is her last one in the Gen I Tribute but I am pretty sure she will be back for more in 2017 when we will continue with Generation II!

“The foe is blasted by a huge volume of water launched under great pressure”

Hydro Pump is a strong damage dealing Water-Type attack with no side effects at all. It is one of the strongest Water-Type attacks in general

“A brutal Pokémon with pressurized water jets on its shell. They are used for high-speed tackles”

Blastoise is the final evolution of Squirtle and the mascot of Pokémon Blue. Blastoise is a lot larger than Squirtle or Wartortle and uses two Water Cannons that are somehow attached to its body it seems.

Imagine a mix of a Turtle and a Tank and what you get is Blastoise!
