#044 Gloom used Toxic and Grassy Terrain!
Gloom used Toxic by MeguBunnii
Angie Rose aka MeguBunnii joined Game-Art-HQ with the Pokemon Tribute and was fast to claim Clefairy and also Gloom as her two cute contributions to this project. I look forward to seeing her participating in our Gen II Tribute in 2017 again! You can see her gallery with all kinds of stuff including more Pokemon Art here.

“A technique that badly poisons the target. The amount of damage from the poison increases every turn”
Toxic is not directly damage dealing but it is a strong Poison-type move that will drain the energy from the opponent, one of the few cures against it is to use Haze or having the Immunity ability.
While its accuracy started with an 85% rating in the classic Pokemon games, it was increased to 90 in the Generation V games.
Gloom used Grassy Terrain by KelpGull
KelpGull aka Erica is one of the newer Game-Art-HQ members and joined just a couple of months ago with one of her entries for a Legend of Zelda art collaboration. She participated in projects by other video game communities before and in the few months at GA-HQ.
She contributed four video game fan arts already with her take on Ivysaur being the first one and a really fun illustration of Peahat, an enemy in the classic Zelda being the currently last one !

“The user turns the ground under everyone’s feet to grass for five turns. This restores the HP of Pokémon on the ground a little every turn”
Grassy Terrain is one of the Grass-type moves that were introduced in the Generation VI Pokemon games and heals the HP of Pokemon on the ground as well as boosting up Grass-Type moves while it decreases the power of attacks by the opponent like Earthquake or Bulldoze. It has also the positive effect of enabling the Grass Pelt ability.
“The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn’t drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey”
Gloom is the first evolution of Oddish and as you read in the official Pokedex description above, it is not as harmless as it looks actually.
This dual-type Grass /Poison Pokemon knows a lot of tricks like Toxic, Grassy Terrain and even the Petal Dance and has pretty good Power and Defense stats from the start.
It is until today the only dual-type Pokemon in the whole Pokedex btw. that can evolve into a single-type Pokemon.
