20 Years of Tomb Raider – ‘Escape the Ordinary’ with Lara Croft in Rise of the Tomb Raider
Rise of the Tomb Raider starring Lara Croft by Sarah Christina
“I really wanted to give a snowy background to the piece but I also wanted to make it different than every other RoTR piece, as many of them have Lara in a snowy area. I figured adding the the mountains with a little hint of the Siberian valley that Lara finds in the game would be a good way to have the best of both worlds in terms of environment and ambience.
I really took a lot time painting this one and I feel like the other version with the classic features is just as good”

Our first Rise of the Tomb Raider related fan art was in the works for a while and Sarah Cristina, aka Forthy Fathroms showed some real dedication for one of her favourite video games and characters again with this take on Lara Croft in her current modern look as well as her sporting the classic design in front of the pyramids where she died so very often after one not well placed jump.
While I prefer the design of the older games, I am glad that Tomb Raider is still a thing and was able to re-invent itself multiple times. After all it means that there will be many more illustrations of Lara Croft..and that is always a good thing 🙂
