Kraid from Metroid in the GA-HQ Video Game Character DB
Kraid is a recurring boss from the Metroid game series by Nintendo. Kraid is known as one of the biggest creatures in the Metroid games that Samus Aran had to fight. The creature debuted in the classic Metroid (1986) and was actually smaller than Samus Aran back when bosses could not be as big as the screen itself due to technical limitations. This changed with Super Metroid (1994) where Kraid returned with a visual redesign and almost gargantuan size. It returned with a similar big size in the remake Metroid: Zero Mission (2004) and is also seen in the Brinstar Depths stage of Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001). Kraid was once supposed to return in Metroid Prime just like Ridley, another recurring Metroid Boss but the plans changed during development. |
