MissingNo just had to be a part of our Generation I Pokemon Tribute!
MissingNo taking the Aerodactyl Form with a twist and used the Sky Attack by Twarda8 aka Karolina Twardosz
“MissingNo. used Sky Attack!”
“けつばんの
ゴッドバード こうげき!”
As it should read in 1st gen message box.
But apparently that would not be true in Japan. It looks like Japanese MissingNo. is Normal/Fighting type and obviously it has different stats and moves. It’s hard to tell how exactly it looks like in Japan as my sources and Japanese are limited, but with Japanese Red I may try encountering the glitch Pokemon. Althrough, I heard it can be encountered more safely in Japanese Blue version. Worth to test this thing out!
In English Red/Blue, MissingNo. is a fairly harmless, yet useful, glitch Pokemon, if you ask me. I pretty much abused MissingNo. and Ditto glitch to get unlimited items and full pokedex various times. Althought I have never caught the glitch Pokemon, as I haven’t felt a necessity of doing that.
Fossil form MissingNo. can have various moves and stats but I portrayed this one using the God Bird attack. Btw, don’t mistake MissingNo. with M’block. That one is a different glitch.

Karolina Twardosz from Poland joined the Pokemon Tribute after I invited her personally to this project, I think back in April or May. What she didn’t know was that she and a specific fan art she drew in February 2016 to tribute the Pokemon Anniversary was one of the reasons why we started our first Pokemon Art Collaboration!
She did a wonderful little piece with the three starters Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle in front of the Games and a Nintendo 3DS. Her dedication to this piece made us think that we should do something for the Pokemon Fan Community as well.
Twarda drew five of the Pokemon including the mysterious MissingNo and I am sure we will see more from her in the Gen II Tribute next year. I recommend to visit her whole gallery on deviantART here!

Epilogue by Reinhold
Getting all 151 drawn by two artists to create a unique and pretty awesome tribute to the Pokemon series in general but especially for the first generation Green, Red ,Blue and Yellow was a huge challenge already but this project just would not be complete without the most popular of the glitch Pokemon that were haunting these cartridges.
Some of them were probably remaining code from the Pokemon that were once planned to be in the games already but had to be cut out due to technical limitations.
MissingNo might never Rest in Peace before it becomes playable somehow when this community starts creating fan games 😉
Happy New Year everyone!
