The Fighting Game Boss Tribute: The Corrupted Shinnok from Mortal Kombat X
The Corrupted Elder God, Shinnok drawn by Romeo J. Gonzales
Romeo is like myself a big fan of the Mortal Kombat fighting games and is an active member of the Game-Art-HQ Community now since years. He was one of the first artists that claimed one of the around 20 new Bosses that we were planning to cover in our second Round of the Fighting Game Boss Tribute.
Beside Corrupted Shinnok, he also started a massive series of his own back in 2015 already and drew almost all Mortal Kombat X characters in all of their variations already.
Shinnok used the Earthrealm’s Jinsei to corrupt it and become powerful enough to defeat all of Earthrealm’s threats like Raiden and the remaining Earthrealm Warriors easily.
The result is that the corrupted Elder God becomes much larger and has a good couple new special moves including shooting flames straight from his body.
Just like back in 1996 when Shinnok was the final boss of Mortal Kombat 4, he is not such a pain as Shao Kahn though. With well placed combos, many jumpkicks and an X-Ray Move he can defeat a lot easier than Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat 2,3 and 9. His own X-Ray and Fatality moves are absolutely badass though.
Corrupted Shinnok drawn by Diego Gomez
Diego Gomez joined Game-Art-HQ back in 2015 and drew an awesome take of Garr from the almost forgotten Breath of Fire 3 for one of our community projects. Corrupted Shinnok was his next contribution and we look forward to his future works!
