Tung Fu Rue from Fatal Fury and KOF in the GA-HQ Video Game Character DB
Tung Fue Rue is a playable fighting game character by SNK that debuted as one of the CPU controlled enemies in the classic Fatal Fury: King of Fighters (1991). He became a playable character in Fatal Fury Special (1993) for the first time and returned in Real Bout Fatal Fury Special (1997) and Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 (1998). In 2005 Tung Fu Rue became one of the rather surprising character choices in the crossover fighting game NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. This led to his KOF debut in The King of Fighters XI (2005) where he is one of the unlockable characters in the console version. In the King of Fighters XIV (2016) he is available from the start as part of the China Team. Tung Fu Rue is one of the first “Old Kung Fu Master” characters in fighting games and instructed a good couple of important SNK characters like Geese Howard, Jeff Bogard, Terry Bogard, Jin Chonrei and Shun’ei. While he uses Bājíquán for the majority of his normal moves, he can use Chi energy to enhancing his muscles and physical strength which changes the ability and size of the relative small character drastically. |
