Aipom used Baton Pass by TamarinFrog

TamarinFrog aka Tammy from Finland is a Game-Art-HQ member since years already and participated in many of our art collaborations before she joined the Pokemon Tribute in 2016 with Mankey. In 2017 she continued to take the Ape-like Pokemon with Aipom but also took the very different Mantine eventually.

Have a look at her whole gallery there on dA!

Baton Pass

“The user switches places with a party Pokémon in waiting and passes along any stat changes.”

Baton Pass is a Normal-type non-damaging move that is best implemented when a trainer has a good Pokemon to switch out..

There is no TM for Baton Pass but a number of Pokemon can learn this move naturally. It is one of the moves that were introduced in Generation II, Aipom by TamarinFrog introduced it to our big Pokemon Tribute!

Aipom used Nasty Plot by birdmir

Birdmir from the USA is a very active artist that always wanted to join one of the video game art collaborations on dA and finally got her chance with ourPokémon tribute. Metapod was the first submission by her in 2016 and she returned with three excellent takes on Aipom, Forretress and Hitmontop for our Gen II Pokemon Project in 2017.

You can see a lot of even more nice art in her gallery on dA here!

Nasty Plot

“The user stimulates its brain by thinking bad thoughts. This sharply raises the user’s Sp. Atk stat.”

Nasty Plot is a non-damaging Dark-type move in which the user raises its special attack stat by two stages.

If used with Baton Pass or Stored Power in a Pokemon contest then you can gain an extra 3 appeal points for it. It is seen as a Clever move in a Contest Spectacular.

Aipom introduced the Nasty Plot move to the GA-HQ Pokemon Tribute in summer 2017.

“Its tail is so powerful that it can use it to grab a tree branch and hold itself up in the air.”

Aipom closely resembles a monkey with a fingered tail that it uses to balance itself and to grab things. It has been known to wrap its tail around trees while it sleeps so that it doesn’t fall off.

It is the first in the Aipom line of Pokemon and can evolve into Ambipom when levelled up after learning Double Hit which it can learn naturally at level 32. Ash owns an Aipom in the anime that was very close in personality to that of his Chikorita; attention seeking and naughty. Ash traded her to Dawn for a Buizel as she was more interested in contests than gyms and she was later evolved into an Ambipom.

In the ‘Spell of the Unown’ Pokemon movie, Lisa owned an Aipom that she often had out with her and not in a Pokeball, similar to that of Ash and Pikachu. Aipom fought Ash’s shiny Noctowl and ended up beating it.
