Pupitar used Dig by Theonyn

Dig

“The user stomps down on the ground and attacks everything in the area. Hit Pokémon’s Speed stat is reduced.”

The Dig move is an attack used primarily by Ground and Rock Pokemon who dig into the Earth for the first turn and then rise up to attack the opponent. Throughout each generation, it has always been acquired as TM28.

Though effective in avoiding attacks; Dig does not always make the user invulnerable. Ground-Type moves like Earthquake, Magnitude and Fissure can still damage the Pokemon using Dig. And since it is a Ground-Type move; Flying-Type Pokemon are not affected by Dig.

Pupitar used Dark Pulse by MTSugarr

MTSugar joined GA-HQ with her special take on Shellder, just to claim a very attracting Exeggcute as well in 2016. In 2017 she returned with even more Pokemon in the form of super cute takes on Hoppip, Swinub and Pupitar.

If you like cute stuff, check out her whole gallery here!

Dark Pulse

“The user releases a horrible aura imbued with dark thoughts. This may also make the target flinch”

The Dark Pulse is a strong Dark-Type attack that was introduced in the Generation IV Pokemon games. It has a 20% chance to causing its opponents to Flinch and its Power Rating of 80 can be increased to 120 if the Pokemon uses the Mega Launcher ability as well.

Right now, at least three of the Gen I & II Pokemon in our art collaboration learned this move already!

#247 Pupitar

This dangerous pupa thrashes about. Its shell is as hard as bedrock, containing its gradually forming new body within.

Pupitar is a Rock/Ground type Pokemon and the middle form of the Larvitar line, evolving from Larvitar starting at level 30 and into Tyranitar starting at level 55. It is based off a pupa.

It can be found living in harsh mountain ranges and is capable of venting as in order to propel itself around. It has enough power to knock down mountains!

In the Pokemon anime, Richie owns a Pupitar with the nickname ‘Cruise’ that he uses when Ash meets up with Richie again after their first encounter with one another. It battled against Team Rocket members, Butch and Cassidy and managed to beat them, causing them to flee.
