#262 Mightyena used Fire Fang and Poison Fang in our Pokemon Generation III Art Tribute
Mightyena using Fire Fang by XyvernArtworks
XyvernArtworks aka Max is one of the few artists from Puerto Rico that became part of the Game-Art-HQ community. Pichu was the first submission by XyvernArtworks for our Gen II Tribute. Wooper and Teddiursa were his next two illustrations for your Gen II Project. In 2018 he returned with his takes on Mightyena and Linoone!
Have a look at his whole gallery here!
Fire Fang
“The user bites with flame-cloaked fangs. It may also make the foe flinch or sustain a burn”
Fire Fang is one of the Fire-Type attacks that were introduced in the Gen IV Pokemon games and deals not only juice damage already but also has a 10% chance of burning the enemy. Besides that, it has the same 10% chance of causing the target enemy to flinch.
Only Growlithe and Mightyena are using the Fire Fang Attack in our big Pokemon Project Series so far! Fire Fang is a special move that Mightyena can learn from the Move Reminder in exchange for a Heart Scale.
Mightyena using Poison Fang by AuroraLion
Aurora from the USA joined our Pokémon as one of the first artists who did not participate in any other Game-Art-HQ Art Collaborations before. She submitted her take on Jolteon in the 2nd May week already and continued with Flareon and Nidoran (both genders) in the following months. In 2017 she continued to be a part of the Pokemon Tribute with only with her beautiful take on the Suicune while returned with Mightyena and Delcatty in our Generation III Tribute in 2018!
If you are a Transformers fan, her gallery on dA is a must-see, you can visit her works here!
Poison Fang
“The foe is bitten with toxic fangs. It may also badly poison the foe.”
Poison Fang is Poison-type move where the user bites the opponent with sharp venomous fangs. There is a 30% chance the opponent will be badly poisoned as a result.
The accuracy of this move is 100% so a very useful one to have, especially for a Poison-type such as Crobat who will get a good STAB with this move.
Crobat and Mightyena are the only Pokemon using the Poison Fang here so far. Poison Fang is an egg move for Mightyena, obtained from a Seviper that also knows the move.
#262 Mightyena
“In the wild, Mightyena live in a pack. They never defy their leader’s orders. They defeat foes with perfectly coordinated teamwork.”
Mightyena is a dark type Pokémon that evolves from Poochyena at level 18. They are uncommon in the wild but are usually seen at Grasslands.
Mightyena form packs of roughly ten in the wild, traveling and hunting with precise teamwork. When they’re ready to go for their prey, they show obvious signs of deep growls and low, flat crouches. Their sharp pointed fangs are used to ferociously bite their opponents according to their leader’s orders. Such camaraderie compels them to pledge their trust to experienced trainers, should they get caught and raised to fight.
A Poochyena’s evolution into Mightyeana also turned out to be the first one May and Max saw in the animé. On the way to Rustboro City, Ash’s traveling party would run into Katrina, a Pokémon Ranger taking care of a nearby reserve along with her party of 3 Mightyena and 1 Poochyena. Wanting to see it evolve, Max decided to try and coach it out into the reserve, all for an encounter with Team Rocket to finally change into a Mightyena like the rest of its companions.
