#292 Shedinja using Phantom Force² in our Pokemon Generation III Art Tribute
Shedinja using Phantom Force by Sa-Dui
Sa-Dui aka Titapa Khemakavat from Thailand is an active deviant who draws a lot of beautiful video game related art since around 8 years now but joined Game-Art-HQ’s projects for the first time with her take on Sneasel and its Icicle Crash in 2017 when we did our Gen II Tribute.
In 2018 she returned with her beautiful take on Shedninja!
I totally recommend visiting her gallery where you can find a lot of fantastic art!
Shedinja using Phantom Force by PluivantLaChance
PluviantLaChance from the USA joined GA-HQ when we started our big Generation I Pokemon Tribute and returned in both the Gen II 6 Gen II Tributes, this time it was all about Shedninja, Gulpin and Spoink for him!
Have a look at his whole gallery here.
Phantom Force
“The user vanishes somewhere, then strikes the target on the next turn. This move hits even if the target protects itself.”
Phantom Force is a unique ghost-type variation on the move Fly, in which the user hides somewhere on the first turn and strikes on the second. Introduced in Generation VI, it has a power rating of 90 and an accuracy level of 100%. It bypasses all protection moves and can even hit targets under the effect of Minimize for double damage without fail.
Shedinja can learn the move naturally at level 47 (45 since Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire).
#292 Shedinja
“A peculiar Pokémon that floats in air even though its wings remain completely still. The inside of its body is hollow and utterly dark.”
Shedinja is a dual bug/ghost type Pokémon and a special evolution for Nincada. They only appear when Nincada evolves into Ninjask while the player also has an extra slot in their party and an extra Poké Ball in their bag.
It’s said to be Nincada’s discarded shell given new life, but it doesn’t move at all – no breathing, no twitching, no flapping wings… it actually hovers in the air to move from place to place. Looking inside its hollow shell through the crack on its back is not a good idea, as it’s rumored that they’ll steal one’s spirit – and even then, the hollow is completely dark, so the naked eye won’t be able to see anything interesting anyway.
In the animé, Shedinja served as the main battling Pokémon for Colonel Hansen, whom over the space of two episodes tried to take over the Mirage Kingdom by overthrowing the king and queen and claiming Misty’s Togepi as his own. Its Wonder Guard ability allowed it to deflect all attacks given to it, but in the climax of the second episode, Misty finally defeated it with her Gyarados and its flamethrower attack. This defeat sent Hansen into the dungeon and saved the Kingdom.
