#346 Cradily used Constrict and Ancient Power in our Pokemon Generation III Art Tribute

The second last Pokemon Illustration in our Gen II Tribute (Celebi using Heal Bell) came from the GA-HQ Newcomer Gaianex who is a big fan of cartoons as well as the Pokemon games. He returned with not less than four more illustrations in our Generation III Tribute in 2018 and is a part of our just-announced Gen IV Tribute as well!

Constrict
“The foe is attacked with long, creeping tentacles or vines. It may also lower the target’s Speed”
Constrict is a damage dealing Normal-Type attack that had a 1/3 chance to decrease the speed of the opponent. Since Gen II, this move was nerfed and has only a 10% chance now of lowering the target’s Speed stat by one stage.
Cradily from Gen III was actually the first Pokemon in our Series of Tributes that uses this attack which was one of the last remaining Gen I moves that were not illustrated yet.
Cradily using Ancient Power by Yggdrassal
Yggdrassal from the United States is an active part of the Game-Art-HQ Community since around three years now and contributed a good couple of video game artworks that are about games that are rarely getting any attention now.
He participated with a Timesplitters 3 entry as an example and Rocket: Robots on Wheels as part of our Nintendo 64 Tribute this year. He joined the Pokémon Gen I Tribute with Dodrio in the first May week already and drew seven more of the little Gen I creatures. He also holds the record of the most submissions for our Gen II & III Pokemon tributes with not less than 11 submissions in Gen II and another 16! in our Gen III Tribute!

Ancient Power
“An ancient power is used to attack. It may also raise all the user’s stats. “
Ancient Power is a unique Rock-Type move. While it does inflict damage on the opponent; it’s main draw seems to more or less increase the player’s stats. There is a 10% chance that the player’s Attack, Defense, Speed, Special Attack and Special Defense stats will increase through this move.
Three types of Pokemon are known to evolve from Ancient Power. Tangela will evolve into Tangrowth, Piloswine will evolve into Mamoswine, and Yanma will evolve into Yanmega respectively once knowing this move.
