| The Atari 2600, first named the Atari VCS was one of the first video game home systems and was released in 1977 already, the last games for it were released when the 16bit consoles were on the market already, in 1992. Atari sold over 30 million units of the system, but was not able to create another successful video game hardware, Nintendo took over in the eighties. |
