In the final battle of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Ganon transforms himself into a monstrous beast form, is a giant compared to Link and hold two big swords as well as weapons.

A very fitting title.

This entry is one of the very few which were drawn with traditional tools like markers and gouache paint.

Only some edits were done with photoshop.

In his beast form from Ocarina of Time, Ganon looks a bit more like his classic designs again, but behaves very different, no more magic attacks and a trident as weapon.

Ganon battles more with raw power now to finally defeat Link, but in the end the victory belonged to the skilled player of course.

Ganon is the main antagonist of the most Legend of Zelda games and we got almost all of his different designs covered already in Link’s Blacklist in the last years, but this year is a special round where the artists could claim characters that were drawn already, with the goal to get new views on them.

Orioto first thought about drawing the Agahnim battle from Zelda ALTTP but then asked if he can change it to a showdown illustration of Link vs Ganondorf in his behemoth-like Ganon form.

The result is nothing but epic, just like the battle itself I think. And now I wish that Nintendo would do a real remake of this great game just like Square-Enix is finally doing it with FFVII….
