Mortal Kombat Art Tribute: Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat II
The famous Bicycle Kick |
“Enter the Dragon” |
Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung and won the Mortal Kombat Tournament. But he and the other Earthrealm warriors had not a lot to celebrate about. The temple of the Shaolin Monks was destroyed, and his former brothers were defeated by a horde of Tarkatan Nomads, led by Baraka. Shang Tsung and the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn challenged Liu Kang to a final Mortal Kombat tournament that would take place in Outworld. Liu Kang accepts the challenge and finds himself in a dark environment fighting against Ninjas, Assassins, and an even stronger monster than Goro. Full of fury he defeated them and even Shao Kahn himself. Back in Earthrealm, he accepts that the Events have been part of his destiny. ~ Liu Kang returned with all his moves from MK and got one of the strongest moves ever in the series with his Bicycle Kick. His fatality where he transforms into the Dragon from the Mortal Kombat logo has cult status now and returned in multiple forms in the later games! ~ Liu Kang based on Ho-Sung Pak from Mortal Kombat II was drawn by Michael Littlefield Bielaski from Canada back in June 2012 shortly after the 2nd Round was announced. |
