Believed to be dead during the events of Mortal Kombat 3, Kung Lao just chosed a life without the violence of Mortal Kombat. When he hears about Goro being back and fighting along Shinnok he joines the battle once again and hopes to meet the murderer of his ancestor, the Great Kung Lao. ~ Kung Lao is one of the five returning characters in Mortal Kombat Gold, and somilar to the most Mortal Kombat 4 characters his moves are very similar or the same as previously, he brings a Battle Axe weapon to the fight. ~ In his ending, Kung Lao attacks Goro who just agreed to join Kitana and to stop the war but eventually makes peace with the Shokan.
