The mysterious sorcerer Quan Chi offers Scorpion to bring him back to life in exchange for helping him and Shinnok in their battle against the remaining Elder Gods. Scorpion accepts the deal but can he really be trusted? ~ Scorpion returned with a slightly different visual design, especially a different mask now and does not look exactly like Sub Zero anymore. His moves are for the most part the same but he lost his leg-throw but can finally breath fire during a battle instead of using that ability only for his TOASTY fatality. Speaking about that one, it returned in 3D! ~ In his Mortal Kombat 4 ending, Scorpion is seen victorious above Sub Zero whose last words are that the person responsible for his death is still alive. Quan Chi appears and tells Scorpion that he might be responsible and thanks him for getting rid of Sub Zero but has to take Scorpion back to the Netherrealm now. Scorpion takes the sorcerer with him. This ending was used for the direct sequel Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance in which Quan Chi is seen being trapped in the Netherealm before he finds a way to escape.
