1999 was another important year for the video game industry. The Playstation was very dominating and got a lot new games like Final Fantasy VIII, Soul Reaver, Resident Evil 3, Syphon Filter and more which spawned characters which are known till today with Squall, Raziel and Nemesis among others. The Sega Dreamcast was released in Japan with a great lineup and Shenmue as their big highligt in December and the Nintendo 64 got new games like Jet Force Gemini and Donkey Kong 64. The arcade market shrinked already but still got a lot new high-profile games like Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
