Every main character in a fighting game needs a rival.This is something like a golden rule..Ryu has Ken, Jin Kazama has Hwoarang, etc.and Iori Yagami is the Rival of Kyo Kusanagi, one of the main protagonists in the King of Fighters games and once THE main protagonist.Iori was introduced in The King of Fighters’95 and returned in every sequel of the series as well as all crossover games by SNK so far. Iori was one of the first characters that were revealed for The King of Fighters XIV (2016). Beside being a rival, Iori Yagami is a hell of a bad-ass character design with a brutal fighting style and crazy moves.His appearance is super cool and it is no wonder he is one of the most often drawn male fighting game characters by fans. There are three different versions now with Orochi Iori since 1996 and the partially redesigned Iori since King of Fighters XII, there is also the classic version of him available in KOFXIII as DLC, beside the slightly changed visual look, many of his moves are also different due to him not having those flames anymore. |
