Genjuro Kibagami is a fictional character from the Samurai Shodown fighting game series. He debuted in Samurai Shodown II in 1994 as the rival of Haohmaru and returned in almost all sequels including Samurai Shodown Sen / Edge of Destiny in 2008. Genjuro also made it into the crossover fighting games SNK vs. Capcom and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. Like the majority of the most popular Samurai Shodown characters he returned in the 2019 simply Samurai Shodown named prequel. Genjuro has an unusual dark background which involved that he killed his own mother, a prostitute after helping her to get rid of a brutal client. She attacked him afterwards and is responsible for the big scar on his back. According to his backstory..Genjuro killed her in return. While he was back in SS Sen, Genjuro was believed to be killed in Samurai Shodown 64 after a little boy, searching for revenge the death of his father stabs him from behind during a duel with Haohmaru, costing him the match and his life. Genjuro is quite a badass gameplay wise and a fan favourite of the more or less dead Samurai Shodown series. |
