Astaroth from SoulCalibur in the GA-HQ Video Game Character DB
Astaroth is a character from the SoulCalibur fighting games, developed by Namco (now Bandai-Namco). He debuted in the arcade version of SoulCalibur in 1998 and returned in all sequels so far, there are multiple /different Astaroth characters now though. Astaroth is a big golem like creature which swings a giant Axe as his weapon and was “created” in the Grand Shrine of Palgaea which is supposed to be in Persia, the Iran of today. This guy is obviously not the fastest SoulCalibur character but has a very long-range due to his Axe and can also hit his opponents very hard with it, personally I believe he is even stronger than Nightmare. Astaroth got a few interesting visual redesigns over the years, sadly not all of them were illustrated through artworks by Namco and we have barely any fan art yet, this might change. |
