Xerneas from Pokemon in the GA-HQ Video Game Character DB
Xerneas is a Legendary Pokemon and was revealed in January 2013 as one of the first five new Pokemons in Pokemon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS. It is the Mascot Pokemon, shown on the cover of Pokemon X, and caused a lot of theories about it and the other legendary Pokemon Yveltal. Xerneas is also appearing in Super Smash Bros. 4 WiiU & 3DS in the form of a Pokemon Ball Pokemon there. Xerneas is one of the few Pokemon with the same name in all regions. Fans thought there could be relations to the Forest God of the Princess Mononoke Anime, or that Xerneas could have a relation to Yggdrasil, the giant Tree from the Viking Mythologies. This led to outstanding fan art which you can see in this gallery below. |
