Sheik is a protagonist from the Legend of Zelda games and debuted in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in 1998 on the Nintendo 64. While there were plans to bring back Sheik in Zelda: Twilight Princess these were scrapped and fans still wait for Sheiks return in a mainline Zelda game. Sheik was made a playable character in the Super Smash Bros. Series since the 2nd game of the series, SSB Melee. In April 2014, Nintendo announced that Sheik is returning in Super Smash Bros. 4 WiiU and 3DS. It was not fully known if Sheik is a male or female and this controversy was the reason for many pages of discussions in forums already for years.
