Pit , also known as Kit Icarus is the main protagonist of the Kid Icarus game series by Nintendo which was released in 1986 for the NES. There are so far three Kid Icarus games with Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters for the Game Boy in 1991 and Kid Icarus: Uprising for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012. Pit is also a playable character in Super Smash Bros Brawl (2008) and the sequel Super Smash Bros 4 (2014) on the WiiU and 3DS. The Kid Icarus games are loosely based on Greek Mythology and Pit’s design was inspired by Eros, Perseus and Icarus. Pit was also featured in the Captain N cartoon series as one of the recurring protagonists. |
