The Goomba is a minor enemy from the Super Mario Bros Universe and today probably one of the most known small enemies ever among gamers. One well placed jump..and they are history! These little foes which look like walking Mushrooms with a face debuted back in 1985 in the original Super Mario Bros. for NES and returned in almost all later Super Mario games including many cameo appearances in the Super Mario Kart and Sports games as well. The Goomba also made it into The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and through that also in our Link’s Blacklist. With the time, there were different Goomba types introduced in the Mario games, some of them can jump, others can even fly or use a big green boot to increase its movement abilities. In March 2014 we started the Video Game Character Art Challenges in our deviantART group with the Goomba which resulted in over 30 illustrations of them, some of these are or will be featured in this gallery! |
