Battletoads & Double Dragon is a 2D Beat’em Up developed by Rare LtD. and released in the USA and Europe for the NES, SNES, Game Boy and the Sega Mega Drive in 1993. It features all five main protagonists of the two series, Billy and Jimmy Lee from Double Dragon and the Battletoads Rash, Zitz and Pimple as playable characters. The game has 7 stages, all with bosses from both series including the Dark Queen herself. Plotwise the Dark Queen and the Shadow Gang are joining forces which causes the Battletoads and Lee Brothers to fight their enemy together as well. The game plays in general more like a Battletoads title. It was the first Battletoads where all three of them were playable and gained high praise back in 1993. It is also one of the first crossover video games.
