Shen, the Eye of Twilight is a Champion character from the League of Legends MOBA by Riot Games. He debuted in the game in March 2010 and got seven different skins so far. Shen is classified as a Fighter /Tank character and uses two swords and a lot of Ninja skills. Shen league’s arguably most mobile tank, popularity was at the top of Season 1 & 2 as many of the pro-league teams discovered devastating combos that could be done with this global ulting tank. High Sustain (health returning abilities), No mana (energy system, can spam moves with less of a total cost), High damage (well use to have high damage), and an aoe taunt (arguable the best CC or Crowd Control in the game)
He was and for the most part is still a terror in the top lane. Teams use to use him to be “THE WALL” as he could easily gank another lane with his R or ult and then Teleport back to lane and continue on his high sustain as a mostly unstoppable tank. Since season 1 & 2 Riot made sure his dominance has not been as nearly as big as it use to be.
Mainly nerfing him to accurately give him more risk than reward when it came to trading 1v1 or ganking. (as it use to be just rewards.) Shen still really has not recovered the popularity he use to have and his win rates are still diminishing, but yet his still used in high level play as he was a favored pick of SKT T1 in the Season 3 World Championships.
Mainly due to his abilities to dash through walls, teleport to allies, high sustain, and the AOE taunt on a very low cool-down make him a very strong part of any pre-made team.
