Equus, also renamed to Flamer is a character in the 2D fighting game Fighting Masters, released in 1992 for the Sega Mega Drive by a company named Almanic.
He did not apear in any other video games and is basically an anthomorphic horse with some Muay Thai moves. Yes, really.
Equus was drawn as part of our “FGE” Project when we tried to get illustrations of very unpopular fighting game characters together 🙂

I wonder if this character design could be much better if done today.

Equus Flamer from Fighting Masters Game Art

Equus / Flamer did not have even one fan art on the giant deviantART community but Alexis Kurosawa changed that when he draw him for our FGE Project back in July 2013. He wrote

A character from Fighting Masters, a crappy game that was so bas that it was goodXDD
Equus or Flamer was my favorite in the game ’cause he was fast and had good range attacks.”
