Marios Blacklist: Phanto from Super Mario Bros. 2

Phanto is one of those Super Mario Bros. 2 enemies which were never used for later games really. Quite a shame since these possessed Masks were really haunting the players there.
They were often guarding an important item like a key there and as soon as Mario or his friends picked it up, the Phanto would awake and hunt Mario until he can escape through the unlocked door. The Phanto are some of the scariest enemies ever seen in Super Mario games. ~ Our illustration of them was drawn by Carl Chrappa who created some awesome Link’s Blacklist submissions as well! |
