Marios Blacklist: Smithy the Main Antagonist from Super Mario RPG

Smithy is the main antagonist in Super Mario RPG, the game which combined the strengths of Nintendo and Squaresoft to one of the best games of 1996, but sadly never got a real sequel due to problems between the two companies and the Nintendo 64 hardware. Smithy is a very bizarre and unique villain who seems to be mechanical but has still a hot and very aggressive temper. When he is defeated by Mario and his friends for the first time he becomes so enraged that he killed three of his henchmen who tried to calm him down.
Pedro Vinícius from Brazil created the illustration of Smithy for Mario’s Blacklist and said the following about his work and Mario RPG: I’m a bit clumsy when it comes to drawing capes so… please excuse me, I’m not really sure if I like Smithy’s expression here, also… something feels wrong with that cape but I’m not sure how to describe it, I still kinda like it though. SMRPG was my first RPG ever, and I have a lot of great memories from playing it but I’m definitely a bigger fan of its spiritual successors ( Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series ).
