Rinoa Heartilly is one of the main protagonists in Final Fantasy VIII by Squaresoft (later Square-Enix) which was released in 1999 for the Sony Playstation and later ported to PSN as a PSX Classic. She made also appearances in Final Fantasy Spinoff games such as Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (2012), Final Fantasy: All The Bravest (2013) and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call (2014). In July 2018, Rinoa was revealed to be one of the playable DLC characters in Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT. Rinoa is accompanied by her pet dog Angelo which can become a supportive character during battles sometimes, she uses wrist mounted ranged weapons like a pinwheel, her ultimate weapon is the Shooting Star. |

Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII drawn for the Game-Art-HQ Video Game Character Database
The cute Rinoa was always one of my favourites among the many female Final Fantasy characters, and so I was glad – and a bit surprised – that Edo-Sama claimed her as one of the first characters that were drawn for our video game character database, and that she was claimed long before the more popular guys like Cloud, Sephiroth or Yuna. While everyone is looking forward to the FFVII Remake, I would not mind getting a new version of FFVIII as well.
Ed draws a lot of different art but is also responsible for some awesome artworks in our earlier art collaborations like Mario’s Blacklist and the Pokemon Gen I Tribute. I totally recommend to have a look at his gallery here!
