Gray Fox whose real name is Frank Jaeger was one of the recurring Metal Gear Solid series game characters. He debuted in Metal Gear (1987) as an unplayable protagonist who also became a boss in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (1990). He almost died but was used by the Patriots as a Guinea Pig for their cybernetic surgery methods. “Reborn” and now with enhanced strength and agility he returned in Metal Gear Solid (1998) and became again an unplayable protagonist who helps Solid Snake. He was eventually killed by Liquid Snake who used the Metal Gear REX to break his powerful exoskeleton. Gray Fox became a playable character in a couple of missions in Metal Gear Solid Integral / VR Missions (1999). Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (2006), a prequel set two decades before the events of the first Metal Gear, features a teenage Gray Fox as a masked machete-wielding soldier named Null. Gray Fox is also an downloadable costume in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (2013). |
