Hawkeye is one of the many Marvel super heroes that are also represented now in many video games. His first comic appearances were in 1964 already (Hawkeye started as a villain in Tales of Suspense #57 until he joined the Avengers later). Hawkeye’s video game debut was in Spider-Man: The Video Game in 1991 where he was one of the playable characters in the arcade only beat’em up by Sega. His second video game appearance was in another beat’em up, Captain America and the Avengers, also in 1991 for arcades and a couple of home consoles like the NES and also the 16bit consoles later. It took many years until he became a playable character in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (2006) where he was one of the downloadable characters in the PSP and the XB360 versions. In 2011, Hawkeye was playable in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and due to the Marvel Avengers movies and games like the Marvel LEGO and many mobile or free to play games he is now playable in over 10 more games since UMVC3.
