Tracer is one of the playable “Heroes” in Overwatch (2016), a multiplayer only first person shooter by Blizzard Entertainment. Her real name is Lena Oxton, she fights for the good, is time-traveling and uses dual pulse pistols as her main weapon together with Pulsebombs and her skills like Blink and Recall which allows her to go back in time for a few seconds to restore her health and even more important, to get out of the sight by her opponents. Tracer became also a Heroes of the Storm character in April 2016 and is displayed on the cover of Overwatch. There was a weird controversy about Tracer and her…butt. People complained a certain taunting pose would be too sexy for her character, and Blizzard Entertainment removed this pose just to replace it with another taunt where Tracer uses a classic pin-up pose. Tracer and Overwatch gained some popularity through this move and a ton of fan art and pornstuff all about her butt was created. The game industry and people are so silly sometimes. In December 2016, Tracer became even more popular when her sexuality was revealed and a ton of LGBT members were so happy about Tracer being a lesbian and representing them somehow. I still believe that the sexuality of video game characters is just a method to gain interest for the game they are from. Blizzard Entertainment showed once again that they have many smart people working there. |

Tracer’s official Story / Lore in Overwatch:
The former Overwatch agent known as Tracer is a time-jumping adventurer and an irrepressible force for good.
Lena Oxton (call sign: “Tracer”) was the youngest person ever inducted into Overwatch’s experimental flight program. Known for her fearless piloting skills, she was handpicked to test the prototype of a teleporting fighter, the Slipstream. But during its first flight, the aircraft’s teleportation matrix malfunctioned, and it disappeared. Lena was presumed dead.
She reappeared months later, but her ordeal had greatly changed her: her molecules had been desynchronized from the flow of time. Suffering from “chronal disassociation,” she was a living ghost, disappearing for hours and days at a time. Even for the brief moments she was present, she was unable to maintain physical form.
Overwatch’s doctors and scientists were stumped, and Tracer’s case seemed hopeless until a scientist named Winston designed the chronal accelerator, a device capable of keeping Tracer anchored in the present. In addition, it gave Tracer the ability to control her own time, allowing her to speed it up and slow it down at will. With her newfound skills, she became one of Overwatch’s most effective agents.
Since Overwatch’s dissolution, Tracer has continued to right wrongs and fight the good fight wherever the opportunity presents itself.
